coaching for individuals

A profound and personal process.

“No meaning but what we find here. No purpose but what we make. That, and the Beloved’s clear instructions: Turn me into song; sing me awake.”—Gregory Orr

Within this holistic framework, we will explore the multiple facets of your adult experience. We’ll consider current context—obstacles, opportunities, desires and dreams, and identify the sometimes invisible barriers that may be inhibiting the joyful presence and powerful outcomes you can bring to every aspect of your life.

My coaching approach applys the Hudson Methodology and ‘life cycle’ awareness developed by coaching pioneer Frederick Hudson, as well as the research and curriculum of Brené Brown's Daring Way™, of which I am a Certified Daring Way ™ Facilitator. I draw upon processes developed from the latest neuroscience, pioneered by Daniel Siegel and Richard Hansen. Richard Leider and Kristin Neff have also influenced my work.

"Ruth Williamson saved me, that is not an overstatement. I can’t begin to say enough about how wonderful she is. Kind, compassionate, smart, tenacious, tough…I could go on and on. Working with Ruth was the best decision I’ve made in a long time."

— S.G. Bend

I work via video conference or in person.  We’ll do work you define that supports your most powerful, most productive and most satisfied self.

Stepping into possibility can feel scary. My work will be to support a journey that is insightful, inspiring and fun. Intentional conversation can transform your workplace and your life. The results: fearlessness, creative vision, authentic dialogue, clarity of purpose, joy.

What can you expect?

When you’re swimming upstream. When life feels like a march to nowhere. When the path forward seems confusing and uninspired. You feel these moments in your bones. Again, this is good news! Change is ready to emerge.

When does coaching make sense?

I recommend a minimum of 6 coaching sessions in order to surface a clear view of your life. We'll identify central themes, obstacles and opportunities for moving you forward. There is deep work to be done that may take more than six weeks to develop and shift towards, but we'll discover that together.

How long does it take?

Sometimes you just need a 'quick tune up'--a conversation to surface the wisdom that resides within. Spot coaching is a 60-90m session focused on a specific and near-term decision or outcome. With deliberate inquiry and curiosity, we'll work together to bring resolution to pressing issues, creating clarity and forward movement.

What is 'spot coaching'?
